Videos of lectures by myself and other near death experience researchers
This lecture is from the mid 1990s at an International Association of Near Death Research Conference. I discuss the social and cultural implications of near death experiences.
In this lecture I present the results of our study at the University of Washington of children's near death experiences. I then discuss its implications for death and dying and how we handle medical aspects of the dying process. I point out that understanding the lesson of the near death experience could save this country 6 billion dollars a year (the amount of money we spend on useless end of life care that doesn't extend life one second)

Those who know, speak of the "gift" of childhood torture. Dr. Ring lectures movingly on his research The Omega Project. This showed that subjects who had trauma early in their lives were more likely to have near death experiences later in life. Dr. Ring is one of those remarkable individuals who was easily 20 years ahead of his time. The United Nations Aware Project is only now replicating a study he did at the University of Connecticut 20 years ago.
Kim Clark Sharp knows near death experiences! 1) Had one 2) Was part of the famous "tennis shoe" near death experience, the best anecdotal evidence of the reality of the out of body experience 3) Mentored me in my study of children's near death experiences at the University of Washington 4) Runs the largest and most active support group for near death experiences in the country 5) Wrote a great book about near death experiences 6) And her husband runs Medic One, so he is responsible for bringing hundreds of folk back from near death! So listen up when she speaks about NDEs.
Raymond Moody is my mentor in near death research. He wrote the Introduction to my first book. In each segment of this lecture, I have a hilarious Raymond story in the YouTube description of the lecture segment, as a fun special bonus. This lecture is pure Raymond, no props, no PowerPoint. Just him talking about 30 years of researching near death experiences.

NEUROSCIENCE VINDICATES DR. RING!
When The Omega Project was released, Dr. Ring was criticized as people couldn't understand how the near death experience could be a compensatory gift. They were having a hard enough time understanding that NDEs are real. Now we understand that the same area of the brain effected by severe psychological trauma is the same area of the brain responsible for permitting us to experience the near death experience!
